In today’s Unit 5 review, students will work in groups to solve a set of 9 clues that will ultimately unlock the doors of their escape room.

Instructions
Prep: There are many ways to set up this activity. You can use a series of combination locks or simply have students write their code on a sticky note that they show you and you validate. You can digitize this activity by using Google Forms, where students can’t move on to the next section of the form until they submit the right answer to the previous section. Play: We gave students 50 minutes to make it through all the clues. Be creative about coming up with an escape room scenario that works with the context of your students. We kept things simple and told our students they were trapped inside the school and had 45 minutes until the electricity was shut off and all the key fobs would stop working entirely!
If you want to keep things very simple, you can also just use the problems and distribute them around the room and have students move from one problem to the next, or use the clues as a problem set that forms the basis of a review game (like Trashketball, Connect 4, Stinky Feet, or Castle Attack).
